PAINT OVER SMOOTHED UV MAPS

One more pointer about texture map
painting...
I generally
model low, like you've done, and then I smooth my character 1 or 2 levels for
rendering. Because of this, I will take my model and smooth it 2 levels -before-
creating the UV Snapshot... and then I use the smoothed UV Snapshot grid as my
guildeline for the
textures.
I do this because
the UV's move slightly from smoothing, so I paint the maps based on where the
UV's "will be" as opposed to where they are with no smoothing. Does that make
sense?
I make the UV
picture map it's own layer in Photoshop, make it transparent, and use the lines
to paint in my specific areas.
